What we publish

The JobLabs Editorial Team publishes UK-focused careers, employment and pay reference content where the source material is an official rule or dataset — a gov.uk page, an HMRC rate, a DWP benefit, an ACAS code or an ONS statistic. Our role is to make those rules readable and findable, not to add professional advice we aren’t qualified to give.

Our editorial standards

Every reference page on JobLabs goes through:

1. Single-source check — the primary official source is identified before drafting.
2. Drafting — the article summarises what the source says, in plain English.
3. Citation pass — every rate, threshold, deadline or rule is anchored to a named source.
4. Plain-English check — drafts are edited to read clearly and naturally.
5. Accuracy pass — every figure is verified against the linked source before publication.

What we don’t do

We don’t claim individual professional credentials we don’t hold, and we don’t give personalised legal, tax or financial advice. Where a decision affects your money, your job or your rights, we point you to the official source and, where relevant, to a qualified adviser — ACAS, Citizens Advice, a solicitor or an accountant.

How to flag an error

If a JobLabs page contradicts current official guidance, email recruit@joblabs.ai with the URL of our page and the source you’re citing. We correct within 5 working days and note the change on the article.
