Long (160 words):
Alex is a 12-year UK recruiter and founder of JobLabs.ai, a UK careers reference site that publishes salary benchmarks for 30 roles across 8 cities, employment law guides, free interactive calculators, and open datasets under CC BY 4.0. After spending more than a decade placing candidates at firms across financial services, tech, professional services and SaaS — and reviewing 40,000+ CVs — Alex started JobLabs because most UK careers content is written by people who have never hired anyone. He has hands-on experience with Workday, Greenhouse, Taleo, Lever and Recruitee ATS platforms, and personally tested 20+ AI job-search tools with real candidate CVs (not press demos). JobLabs publishes a weekly memo, three open datasets eligible for Google Dataset Search, and a developer API at /developers/ used by UK payroll software and HR tech tools. Methodology & sources
All UK statutory data sourced from gov.uk (HMRC, DWP, BEIS) and legislation.gov.uk. UK salary benchmarks built from publicly stated averages on Reed.co.uk, Indeed UK, LinkedIn Talent Insights, the 2025 Robert Walters Salary Survey, Hays UK Salary Guide, and ONS earnings data — cross-referenced against placements made in 2025 and early 2026. All datasets updated annually each April with the new tax year.
