Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-24
This page explains exactly which cookies and similar technologies JobLabs sets on joblabs.ai, why we set them, and how you can turn them off. If you just want the short version:
- We use Google Analytics 4 to count visitors — anonymised, no ad targeting.
- Once Google AdSense is approved for the site, we will use advertising cookies to serve personalised ads. Until then, no advertising cookies are set.
- You can refuse every non-essential cookie at any time via our consent banner, and your choice is remembered across visits.
- We never sell your personal data.
Google Consent Mode v2
Our site uses Google Consent Mode v2, which means:
- All advertising and analytics cookies default to
denieduntil you click Accept on the consent banner. - Functionality and security cookies default to
granted— these are needed for the site to work (e.g. remembering your consent choice so we don't re-ask). - When you click Accept, a single
localStoragekey namedjl_consentis written. On your next visit we read it and update Google's consent state without showing the banner again. - When you click Reject, the same key is written with the opposite value. No advertising or analytics cookies are ever set in that state.
Cookie categories
1. Strictly necessary
- jl_consent (localStorage, 1 year) — stores whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies. Without it we'd re-ask every page load.
2. Analytics (loaded only after you accept)
- _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4, 2 years) — anonymised session identifier used to count unique visitors and page flow. IP addresses are truncated before storage.
3. Advertising (not active until AdSense approves this site — approximately October 2026)
Once Google AdSense approves joblabs.ai, the following cookies will be set only after you accept the consent banner. If you do nothing, or click reject, they will never load:
- __gads, __gpi (Google, up to 2 years) — ad frequency capping and personalisation.
- IDE, NID (DoubleClick / Google, 1–2 years) — ad measurement and fraud prevention.
Google's full list of AdSense cookies is maintained at business.safety.google/adscookies .
4. Third-party (embedded content)
We do not currently embed YouTube, Vimeo, or social widgets that set their own cookies. If we add any in future, they will only load after explicit consent.
How to control cookies
- Use the consent banner on your first visit (or re-open it at any time from the footer link "Cookie preferences" — coming in a future release).
- Clear your browser storage to reset our record of your choice and see the banner again.
- Use your browser's settings to block third-party cookies globally — all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) support this.
- Install a privacy extension such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger to block trackers at the network level.
Do Not Track
We respect the DNT header in spirit: if you reject our consent banner, nothing beyond strictly necessary storage is set, regardless of whether your browser also sends DNT.
Changes to this policy
If we add new categories of cookies — for example, when AdSense is activated — we will update this page and show the consent banner again so you can re-confirm your choices.
